I really never knew Tara's dreams at all. I took this picture when we were on a break
and as she picked up a book, I thought it worked well, so I took the shot. In this shot
she wore my mother's veiled hat, which I don't remember my mother ever wearing,
so it may have been somewhat out of style when I was a kid. I always told most of
my sitters to bring a camisole for any special pictures we might do. Sometimes even
that disappeared. The picture is colored black and white with some special effects.
She was sitting on my theatre seats which everyone sat on, while waiting for special
lighting. The strong backlight came from the sun I believe coming from the sunporch.
Tara and I worked well because we both spoke little, and the work and time vanished.
It was all too brief, and she became one of my favourite sitters in my lifetime...
This was a black and white image, even the pics of Marilyn in the book were black and
white. Colored on the computer, but very much like my process of using Dr. Martins
Chromographic colors.
